The Association for Fire Ecology

The Association for Fire Ecology is an international organization dedicated to improving the knowledge and use of fire in land management. We are scientists, educators, students, managers, practitioners, policymakers, and interested citizens helping to shape the emerging profession and growing field of fire ecology.

UC ANR Fire Network

The UC Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR) Fire Network works to improve wildfire resilience across California. We provide science-based information, training and tools to help homeowners and communities reduce wildfire risk and live more safely with fire.

California Fire Science Consortium

The California Fire Science Consortium, one of 15 regional fire science exchanges, is a network of scientists and managers that strives to accelerate the awareness, understanding, and adoption of wildland fire science information by federal, tribal, state, local, and private stakeholders within ecologically similar regions. Our mission is to be a neutral, customer-driven collaborative group that facilitates the flow of fire science information and dialogue.

Tall Timbers Research Station

The mission of Tall Timbers is to foster exemplary land stewardship through research, conservation and education. Tall Timbers is recognized as the home of the study of fire ecology and is an advocate to protect the right to use prescribed fire for land management. It is also recognized as one of the nation’s leading land trusts.

Northern California Prescribed Fire Council

The Northern California Prescribed Fire Council is a venue for practitioners, state and federal agencies, academic institutions, tribes, coalitions, and interested individuals to work collaboratively to promote, protect, conserve, and expand the responsible use of prescribed fire in Northern California’s fire-adapted landscapes.

University of Nevada Extension/Living With Fire

The mission of the Living With Fire Program is to provide recommendations to residents on preparing for wildfire and reducing wildfire threats to homes and communities. Living With Fire is a collaborative effort among federal, state, local firefighting agencies, and resource management agencies.
